Shudder, Sundance Now go down under

This Close was Sundance Now’s first straight-to-series order

MIPCOM: AMC Networks-owned SVoD services Sundance Now and Shudder are set to launch in Australia and New Zealand later this year.

The expansion follows launches for the two services in Canada, the UK, Ireland, Germany and Austria since they made their debuts in the US in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

Sundance Now offers original and exclusive dramas and true-crime series, in addition to movies from every genre, including foreign-language and documentary features.

Shudder, meanwhile, claims to be the world’s largest premium streaming service for both casual and super fans of thriller, suspense and horror content.

Both services recently added new programming, with Sundance Now streaming titles such as documentary series Jonestown: Terror in the Jungle and six-episode dramedy This Close.

Shudder has added titles including Satan’s Slaves, Terrified, Summer of 84 and Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel.
