Shudder snaps up Lagardère’s Iskander

Iskander is set in French Guiana

MIPCOM: AMC Networks’ premium streaming service Shudder has acquired rights to French miniseries Iskander in a deal with Lagardère Studios Distribution.

The agreement covers SVoD for Shudder in the US, the UK, Ireland, Germany and Austria, with the drama launching on the service in December.

Four-part murder mystery Iskander is a French coproduction between prodco Frenchkiss and cultural broadcaster Arte France, along with France Télévisions and NBCU-owned 13ème Rue.

The drama was created and written by Aurélien Molas in collaboration with Olivier Abbou, who also directed.

Iskander attracted a 4.3% audience share on Arte in January this year and more than one million viewers, outperforming its Thursday primetime slot average by 80%.
