Shortland Street moves back to Oz

Long-running New Zealand medical drama Shortland Street is coming back to Australian screens on Foxtel’s Arena channel.

Shortland Street has aired on TVNZ in New Zealand since 1992 and screened more than 5,000 episodes.

Now it has been picked up by Foxtel for its Arena channel which will start airing the soap on weeknights at 17.00 AEDT from February 4.

The drama, produced by New Zealand’s South Pacific Pictures, is set in an inner city hospital and follows both the lives of the staff and the traumas of the patients who are admitted.

It previously aired on ABC1, UKTV and SBS TV in Australia at various points over the last 20 years.
