Shine Network ups creative chief

Shine Group’s international formats division has promoted its creative director Paula Warwick to head of international productions.

Warwick will continue to work across all of Shine’s international prodcos and global production partners, creating local formats and acting as a consultant exec producer on those licensed to third parties.

Shine said the promotion reflected “significant growth” in Warwick’s team and that under her three-year stewardship as creative chief, cooking format MasterChef had grown its local productions from two to 34 territories.

There are currently 26 local versions of the UK-born format, with a further eight in preparing their own ones, including recent agreements for local South Korean and Bangladeshi series.

Warwick joined Shine three years ago as executive producer having previously worked for UK broadcaster ITV, where she was commissioning editor of entertainment. She was made creative director a year later.

“Paula does a truly outstanding job for Shine managing all of our major programme brands and this well-deserved promotion is intended to reflect that success and also the fact that she now manages a fast growing team of international producers,” said Shine Network MD Ben Hall.

Hall next month hands over to incoming MD Claudia Danser, who is joining after leaving her previous role at Warner Bros International Television Production as VP of European sales.

Hall will remain a consultant to Shine Network while heading up its joint venture with youth engagement firm Livity, which aims to help young adult non-graduates to get a foot up in video production.
