Shaftesbury adds to kids ranks

Canadian producer Shaftesbury has appointed a former Zodiak Kids and 9 Story Media exec to the the newly created role of executive producer for kids and family.

Jennifer McCann will oversee the division’s original series, as well as the recently launched Shaftesbury Kids YouTube channel. She was director of development at 9 Story, spent time at Groupe Média TFO and started out at Zodiak’s Marathon Media in Paris.

Shaftesbury said she was a seasoned producer with over 18 years of experience in multi-platform content production, international coproduction and development.

McCann has worked in Europe and North America, overseeing projects in both documentary and entertainment programming. She will report to Shaftesbury chairman and CEO Christina Jennings.

Upcoming Shaftesbury Kids series going into production include Emerald Code Season 3 in partnership with Let’s Talk Science and the Shaw Rocket Fund, and ClearWaterKids Challenge in partnership with Clearwater Farm and the Shaw Rocket Fund.
