SevenOne preps Traveling Whore 3

Producers in Germany, Austria and Hungary are developing the third installment in a period drama franchise about a woman seeking revenge after being forced from her home in disgrace.

The Legacy of the Traveling Whore (aka Das Vermächtnis der Wanderhure, 1×120’) is being produced by Germany’s BurkertBareiss and TV60Filmproduktion, Austria’s Aichholzer Film and Hungary’s Uj-Budapest for ProSiebenSat.1 in Germany and ORF in Austria.

The TV movie, set in the Middle Ages, continues the adaptation of novels by Iny Lorentz about a woman who is about to marry a rich nobleman until she is raped and thrown out because she is no longer a virgin. Beaten and left to die, she is picked up by a band of prostitutes who help her recover her strength before she goes out to seek her revenge.

The series is distributed by ProSiebenSat.1-owned SevenOne International, which has previously sold the films to broadcasters including M6 in France, Antena 3 in Spain and Sky Italia in Italy.

The first film, The Whore (Die Wanderhure, 1×120’) aired on Sat.1 in October 2010 with a market share of 32.4% and almost 10 million viewers. The second installment, The Revenge of the Traveling Whore (Die Rache der Wanderhure, 1×120’) will air on Sat.1 on February 28.
