Further project details to be announced.
Volcano:
A powerful volcano eruption forces the inhabitants of Iceland to relocate to a few Croatian islands. Criminal and political secrets are unearthed by an Icelandic female journalist and her unexpected Croatian ally. Soon the natural disaster turns into human and social turmoil when these two nations try to co-exist. The eight-part series, set to go into production in 2024, is co-produced by Iceland’s ACT4 and Croatia’s Drugi Plan (part of Beta Group). The series is created by Drugi Plan’s Nebojsa Taraba and Miodrag Sila (HBO’s”Success”, Netflix’s “The Paper”, HRT, Beta, ZDF Arte, “The Silence”). ACT4 was launched earlier this year by a group of prominent Icelandic creatives, including “True Detective” actor Ólafur Darri Ólafsson and “As Long As We Live” producer Hörður Rúnarsson. The mixed-language series – which will be in English, Icelandic and Croatian – will be shot in Iceland and Croatia.
Sight Unseen:
Sight Unseen follows Tess Avery (newcomer Dolly Lewis), a top homicide detective who is forced to quit the job she loves after nearly killing her partner and being diagnosed as clinically blind. Reluctant to accept help, Tess uses an assistance app and connects with Sunny Patel (Agam Darshi, “DMZ”), a professional seeing-eye guide and an agoraphobe living 3,000 miles away. After losing her vision, Tess is haunted by the unsolved cases she left behind. Using a hidden camera and earpiece, Sunny remotely steers Tess through life’s obstacles – and crimes – as the two challenge preconceptions about ability, trust and where to draw the line. Inspired by one of the co-creators’ experiences with sight loss, viewers join Tess and Sunny as they bring a fresh perspective to solving crime. The series also stars Jarod Joseph (“The 100”), Daniel Gillies (“The Vampire Diaries” franchise, “Virgin River”), Alice Christina-Corrigan (“Doctors”) and Tony Giroux (“Motherland: Fort Salem”).
