Based on on Kjersti Halvorsen's critically acclaimed debut novel, Ida Takes Charge is a dark and funny story about overcoming fear and finding your calling in life.

Ida has just arrived in Oslo to study psychology at university. Ida is anxious about most things - not getting off the bus at the right stop, running out of toilet paper in a public toilet, environmental changes and World War III. But her greatest fear is terror. There is nothing that frightens her more than being a victim of a random attack.

Having decided to fight these fears, she meets Aksel - a loner like herself with a dubious interest in weapons. As she gets to know him, she becomes more and more convinced that he is planning a school shooting. In her obsession to save her fellow students and the world, she needs to take drastic measures. But can she save herself?

Kjersti Halvorsen's novel was nominated for Norway's prestigious Tarjei Vesaas' Debutantpris in 2019. The series director Rikke Gregersen won a Student Academy Award and a special jury prize at the BAFTA/LA Student Films Awards for her 2018 short film `Dog Eat Dog', and recently worked on the Gullruten-nominated `Sigurd fåkke pult'.
