Producers agree, Queensland is Australia’s film-friendly paradise.

For 30 years, Queensland’s diverse locations, incentives, world-class studios and local expertise has attracted high-end international productions from such companies as MGM, Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures, Universal Studio Group, Walt Disney Pictures, Marvel Studios, Netflix and more. This strong track record of drawing back-to-back productions (including repeat business) has created a skilled and experienced local crew base, ready for the needs of large scale, international and Australian feature films and series.

From the early days of Street Fighter, Flipper - The New Adventures and The Phantom, Queensland continued to attract continuous production including Scooby Doo, Nim’s Island, Fool’s Gold, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, San Andreas, Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Men Tell no Tales, Aquaman, Thor: Ragnarok and Dora and the Lost City of Gold. Via Screen Queensland’s production attraction incentive, recent productions secured into the state include Young Rock, Ticket to Paradise, Thirteen Lives, The Portable Door, The Wilds, the untitled Elvis biopic, Escape from Spiderhead, Godzilla vs Kong, Love and Monsters and Reef Break.

Screen Queensland, the state government screen agency headquartered in Brisbane, offers incentives to productions with a committed spend of A$3.5 million or more into the state. A further incentive is available from the City of Gold Coast to productions that spend in excess of A$1.5 million in the region.
