Hipsters is a four-part factual entertainment series that sees our host, the always engaging but not particularly hip, actor SAMUEL JOHNSON embark on a global quest to understand the origins, meaning and future of the cultural stereotype that has become known as the hipster. What exactly is a hipster? How do things like fixed gear bikes, craft beer and beards evolve from being niche trends to ridiculous cliché? And why will no hipster ever, ever admit to being one? Sam’s odyssey to answer these and more questions will take him from New York to Berlin, London, Tokyo and Shanghai; meeting bloggers, visual artists, graphic designers, musicians, cool-hunters, tattoo artists, and bicycle couriers as he gets to the bottom of his own fascination, horror and pre-conceptions about hipsters.
