Trans Sex Workers of Mexico Unite

‘Trans Sex Workers of Mexico Unite’ depicts the struggle of transgender former sex-worker Kenya Cuevas who left sex work after the murder of her best friend, Paola Buenrostro.

She is now the face of the fight for trans women’s rights in Mexico, the second most deadly country in the world for transgender people.

We follow Cuevas as she organises brigades to deliver essential supplies in one of Mexico City’s poorest neighbourhoods during the COVID-19 pandemic, and prepares to open a shelter for trans women named after her slain friend.

“Our revenge will be that we are happy” – Kenya Cuevas.
