When a prominent Montreal psychiatrist and then a successful lawyer are found murdered in identical, disturbing crime scenes, a troubled homicide cop takes the case. Detective Sergeant Victor Lessard discovers that the murders are connected to a long-buried conspiracy, leading back to a series of alarming mind-control experiments conducted by the CIA in the 1960s, and ultimately to the assassination of JFK. The closer he gets to the truth, the more Victor’s own demons rise to the surface. In the end, he must come to terms with the shattering events of his own childhood.
