What if it wasn’t for the 23.5 degree tilt of the earth’s axis?
If the earth was tilted by less than 23.5 degrees, the equator would become hotter as the North and South poles would become colder. Polar ice gradually expanding; greatly increasing the area of the Antarctic and Arctic.
Conversely, if the axis of rotation was greater than 23.5 degrees, the glaciers in the Arctic and Antarctic would melt and freeze again every year, causing repeated flooding. The equator would be so cold it could be covered in glaciers and sea ice.
