The higher you climb, the further there is to fall. Della Howells, a wife, mother and passionate historian, has finally secured the top job at the Museum of Wales. But with power comes problems, and after embarking on a reckless affair with a charismatic stranger, Della’s life starts to fall apart. As others seemingly conspire against her, Della goes from being a high-flying career woman to part of Cardiff’s criminal underworld – transforming from heroine to villain. Weaving through the subterranean corridors of the museum out into the striking landscapes of Wales, this atmospheric thriller charts Della’s downfall, exploring themes of heritage, family, love and loss as she discovers that some truths cannot be left in the past.
