Flack

Hat Trick International
12 x 60

Set in a world of high-stakes public relations starring Anna Paquin (The Piano, True Blood, X-Men) as Robyn; a flack, a sharp and witty PR agent who’s an expert at her craft but a complete self-saboteur when it comes to her personal life.

Flack is equal parts comedy and drama, reflecting the brutal reality and complexities of modern life, where problems can go viral in an instant. With PR serving as the perfect backdrop to explore these complexities, Flack centres on Robyn and her fellow flacks who must figure out how to make the best of bad situations and somehow manage to get out unscathed.

Following on from the destruction left in her wake at the end of Series 1, Robyn is white knuckling it and trying to get her life back on track. Off the booze and the drugs, she’s determined to be a good girl, but unfortunately life has other plans and news of an unexpected pregnancy sends her off the rails once more.

Caroline (Sophie Okonedo) has to deal with ghosts from her past rearing their heads to threaten her future; Eve (Lydia Wilson) is struggling with her place in life; Melody (Rebecca Benson) is finding her feet in London; Ruth (Genevieve Angelson) is alone for the first time in forever and determined to find some independence, but old wounds begin to reopen.

Daniel Dae Kim and Sam Neill will be joining the show for its second outing. Neill, who is reuniting with his The Piano co-star, will have a multi-episode arc as Duncan, who has a very complicated relationship with the PR agency boss, Caroline. While Kim will star as Gabriel Cole, a tech titan who begins a romance with someone at the firm.

MPPR finds itself dealing with its usual fill of showbiz scandals this season, managing models, promoting politicians and wrangling off the rails television presenters. No scandal is left unturned.
