From Scratch follows actor, adventurer and urbanite David Moscow on his adventure of making meals from scratch. He teams up with various friends from around the world to hunt, gather, forage, fish, grow and then prepare and cook a meal.
So much of the food we eat in our lives is processed, canned, and prepared for our convenience. It is easy to forget where our food comes from. When was the last time you made homemade pasta, or grew your own spices, or thought about the meat you bought in the supermarket? It is important to know what we are putting into our bodies and how our food is sourced.
We travel the world and see how our unconscious consumption habits affect the world and humankind directly from the people who grow, cultivate and pick our food. From Scratch will urge viewers to make these unconscious habits conscious decisions. We’ll learn about the realities of food production today, the history of our food and the science behind it through interviews with experts across various fields. Farm to table dining ingredients and local foodie culture is on the rise, but do viewers really know what it takes to make what they eat every day?
