Kitchens and Bathrooms are the most important rooms in the house. They get most use, they add most value to your property, and they are the most difficult to get right. There are so many different styles to choose from, they are complicated to design, and if you make a dog’s dinner, they’re very expensive to fix.

In this entertaining series, presenter Mark Millar (DIY SOS) follows ordinary homeowners trying to turn their dreams for a new kitchen or bathroom into reality, and helps them battle with tight budgets, decoration dilemmas, and Billy Bodge-Its. These popular documentary makeover stories are intercut with VTs featuring inspiring and beautiful finished kitchens and bathrooms from around the country, and giving viewers practical ideas and information for different budgets.

Each episode follows 2 families with relatable and likeable characters and exciting ideas for their new kitchen or bathroom, who are passionate about creating their dream rooms, and unafraid to express doubts or own up to disasters. Presenter Mark brings bags of his trademark humour as well as 20 years of practical experience, and gets his hands dirty with the families. Whatever the style or
budget, he’s passionate about people getting the most for the money.

The tone of the series is documentary, humour, inspiration and information. Viewers will be hooked to see if families pull off their dream transformations, entertained by Mark’s humour, and amazed by the results. They’ll enjoy snooping around other peoples’ finished kitchens and bathrooms, and they’ll gain lots of useful information and ideas from the programmes.

The format is to follow two separate makeovers each episode (one kitchen and one bathroom) and intercut them with VT packages. Makeovers are low to mid budget and involve more decorating rather than building. They feature some layout work and knocking through – but the focus is less on building work than decoration and creating the finished looks.

Whether contributors are spending £1k or £10k, the programmes are all about ordinary people getting beautiful and extraordinary rooms, inspirations from other peoples’ kitchens and bathrooms, ideas for different budgets, plus money-saving tips and hacks for transforming whole rooms by changing a few details.

Whatever your tastes or budget, this series has entertaining characters, stories, inspirations and transformations, and informative practical tips for every viewer.
