At the heart of every city is its citizens. Our perception of cities is slowly changing from a model of mathematical engineering to a human habitat where urban spaces have the potential to be healthy, attractive, interesting and efficient. In this 18-part series over 3 seasons, Danish urban design expert Mikael Colville-Andersen - often referred to as the Anthony Bourdain of the urban world - explores the anatomy and vibrancy of the modern metropolis, highlighting pockets of life-sized goodness in cities around the world. Each episode focuses on one city and on what makes it livable (or not) for its residents.

Hosted by urban expert Mikael Colville-Andersen, he profiles innovative local urban development and improvement projects that are changing and revitalizing city life. He is at the helm of intriguing and creative encounters with those who make up the social fabric that redefines city life. Themes explored are public spaces, urban sprawl, transport, green initiatives, bike ability and family life - all on a human scale.
