TALKING SHOP: Peter Kosminsky, director of the BBC's adaptation of Wolf Hall, tells C21 about the making of the critically acclaimed series that has just concluded its UK run and reflects on the current state of drama.

Kosminsky, whose credits include contemporary political factual features The Government Inspector and The Promise, explains why he was tempted into period drama by Peter Straughan's adaptation of Hilary Mantel's novels Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies. He also celebrates the current proliferation of new outlets for drama, but at the same time voices concerns about the effect of centralisation within established broadcasters.
