TALKING SHOP: Frank Falcone, president and creative director of Toronto-based Guru Studio, discusses issues including the Canadian tax break system and the emergence of new programme buyers like Amazon.

C21's Talking Shop is a daily strand on C21Media.net that goes behind the news to talk to leading players in the international content business.

Falcone discusses what aspects of the Canadian tax break system need to change and why, plus the differences between dealing with new buyers like Amazon Studios and with traditional broadcasters. He also explores what the new age of digital storytelling means for kids’ producers.

"The wonderful thing about genres is that they're being messed with by these new platforms. It's really interesting to be involved in content at the moment; it's the dawn of a whole new era of storytelling. So we really try to tell stories in more releveant ways that our audiences can engage with in deep dives," Falcone says.
