Spurlock gets Smartish

Morgan Spurlock tells C21 about the innovative release plan for a series of shorts on the US economy and about Smartish, a YouTube channel developed with Maker Studios.

Sporting a splint for a nose broken while playing with his seven-year-old, the celebrated Super Size Me documentary maker says his We The Economy initiative with Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen is “smashing the whole idea of day-and-date.”

Reflecting on the impact digital is having on the documentary genre, he also discusses the launch of Smartish, an initiative he describes as “a place where Ted Talks and reality TV can come together and make smart babies.”
