Honourable intentions

The show, which stars Hollywood actress Maggie Gyllenhaal as the daughter of an assassinated Israeli arms manufacturer, debuts today on BBC2.

Blick and Brenman talk about the development of the series and reflect on current state of UK and US drama.

“Where there used to be a flow of TV talent into the movie world, the TV world is retaining its talent and actually there’s a counter attraction whereby actors are coming into the TV arena – as we’ve seen on The Honourable Woman with Maggie Gyllenhaal,” says Brenman. “She’s offered a part that she’d never get on the big screen because actually that big screen is telling a smaller story.”
