TALKING SHOP: Bruno Zarka, partner and producer at fledgling French prodco The Bridge People (aka Les Gens Du Pont), talks to C21 about his firm’s debut drama commission, The King, for Danish broadcaster DK4.
Zarka also outlines his plans to open an office in the Nordic region and explains the importance of coproductions to European drama.
“Our writers room in the Nordics is not going to be a place just for the Nordic people, it’s going to be a place to bring together different people from different areas,” the former Panini Media exec says.
“Drama is not a speed race, drama is a marathon. We have got The King coming out in 2016 and now it’s 2014, so that shows how long the process is.
“The way the viewers will access broadcasting in 2016 will be completely different so we already have to define a new way the audience reviews things.”
