TALKING SHOP: James Burstall, CEO of Argonon, tells C21 about the UK production group's recent high-profile appointments and its strategy for growth, including possible mergers and acquisitions.
Remedy Productions, which came together with Leopard Films to form Argonon in 2011, has recruited Tom Blakeson, the man behind formats such as The Million Pound Drop, to lead a push into gameshows and interactive formats. BBC veteran Suzanne Gilfillan is also coming onboard to develop comedy.
"We've set out a five-year strategy to grow to £100m [US$156m] by 2016. That's very ambitious and we've deliberately set our targets high," Burstall said.
"The way to achieve that is twofold: firstly, investing in talent and bringing the best creative talent into the companies; but also looking at companies outside of Argonon that are complementary and different to what we have already in-house."
