Ramzan Golant says the £550m (US$930m) deal that was announced in May and is expected to close later this year will help All3 achieve further organic growth as well as arming it with cash to lead its own M&A activities.
“Both Liberty and Discovery are pretty kick-ass disciplined buyers – as I’ve seen myself – so I expect that acquisition facility will be made available but will need to be torture-tested,” she says.
The former CEO of advertising agency AMV BBDO also reflects on the future of the industry.
“I do not believe ad-supported television is going to whither on the vine in the face of non-linear platforms,” says Ramzan Golant. “We have a lot to learn from the new boys on the block but I believe in abundance. The strongest survivors will be the ones that can absorb new competences and build that into the system.”
