Pooch Perfect is a new primetime entertainment format that artfully combines our love of competitive reality shows and our love of dogs.

In the UK (where around a quarter of all adults own a dog), and indeed in many other territories worldwide, dog ownership is growing. As a result, the dog-grooming industry is also booming, and dogs across the globe have never been so well pampered. Pooch Perfect capitalises on this growing doggy demand with a timely format packed with cute canines, super stylists, plus heart and joy, to deliver a fun, warm and thoroughly entertaining family viewing experience.

The format features sixteen professional dog groomers competing in a series of heats in some ‘pawsome’ challenges to create epic ‘transfurmations’ of adored family pets. Each week, the groomers will reveal their creations on The Dogwalk, where the two expert judges will deliberate over the week’s canine contenders, and their owners are given the chance to see their newly transformed dogs for the first time. Who will stay and who goes ‘walkies’? Over the course of the heats, quarter finals, semi-final and final, the stylists are gradually eliminated until one claims the title of the nation’s Top Dog Groomer.

As well as breed standard and freestyle makeovers, the format is also packed full of useful information for dog-lovers and owners, delivering top tips on responsible ownership, fun facts about dog breeds and a guide to at-home pooch pampering techniques.
