In Season two, a few months have passed since El Hierro was shaken by a series of murders, and things have finally returned to normal. Candela is out of place on the island, but she’s slowly getting used to its idiosyncrasies and is determined to solve the drug trafficking case involving the local businessman, Díaz, and the criminal organisation that was previously run by Samir in Tenerife.
After revealing his dark past in a rash outburst at the end of the first season, Díaz is now refusing to cooperate with the judge for fear of reprisals from his former associates. But everything changes when a hitman is sent for Díaz… Who wants him dead? And why? Candela has to juggle this sticky situation with her daily dealings at the court, including an ugly family conflict that will affect her more than any other case in her career… Gaspar and Lucía are the products of a failed marriage; they’re embroiled in a bitter war over the custody of their children, Ágata and Dácil, and never stop to think about the damage their conflict might be causing them.
El Hierro is a place where everyone is somehow linked to one another – even when they least expect it. Candela isn’t the only link between Díaz’s troubles and the custody case – the girls’ father, Gaspar, is interested in buying Díaz’s banana plantation, where he plans to build a tourist resort. It could be a great deal for Díaz, but he would lose his place in the world.
