Countrymen sees four men with dubious plans move to a farm in the rural Norwegian countryside. More or less against their will, they end up as the founders of Norway's first halal cheesemaking business.
The series follows a group of young men from the eastern part of Oslo who move to a farm in picturesque Telemark. They pretend to be driven by a common interest in agriculture - an agenda hiding totally different plans.
Life in the countryside turns out to be quite different from what the young men have imagined, and everything from curious neighbors and a large herd of goats, to an establishment grant from the municipality, makes it difficult to get away with their dubious plans.
