Executive Producer: Dinah Lord

Genres: Documentary

1 x 90 or 2 x 45 mins

It was Britain’s first kidnap and ransom case which shocked Britain in 1969. In leafy, suburban Wimbledon Muriel McKay was kidnapped by mistake, the real target being the wife of media tycoon, Rupert Murdoch. Taking place in the last days of the 1960s – a decade defined by the potency of tabloid press, the arrival of the Windrush generation and challenges to the established social order – two Indo-Trinidadian brothers were convicted of Muriel McKay’s murder. For the first time, all of the key players in this astonishing crime story speak for the first time: one of the men convicted, the daughters of the kidnapped woman who took the ransom calls and the family of the second kidnapper.
