Morris & Co
England, 1855. Edward Burne Jones (aka Ned) and William Morris are young, idealistic and will remain the best of friends for the rest of their lives. Ned’s sweetheart, the forthright and bright Georgiana Macdonald (Georgie) shares their determination to make the world a better place.

Through a love of art and architecture, these three find their way to renowned artist and founder of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, who inspires them to take up a bohemian residence in London. There, Morris meets and proposes marriage to the woman of his dreams, Jane – shy, uneducated, once desired for domestic service. When Ned and Georgie get married, it closes a circle of friends who will soon face trouble in their earthly paradise.

The couples endure complicated and terrifying pregnancies, the tragic suicide of Rossetti’s artist wife and financial troubles in their joint venture, The Firm. In between affairs, adventures and obsessions with sagas and knights, each one of them faces the clash between their dreams and fantasies and the very real moral complexity around them. Morris goes on a life-changing journey to Iceland; Georgie finds her way to political action, inspired by the rise and fall of the Paris commune; Jane learns to express her own personal yearnings; and Ned emerges from a scandalous affair with the courage to stand by his wife.
