Scorpion stings IPC deal

Fortune Fights looks at celebrity legal battles

MIPTV: London-based independent content distributor Scorpion TV has struck a representation agreement with Eli Holzman’s prodco The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC).

Under the deal, Scorpion is launching two new 10-part series at MipTV – Fortune Fights and Notorious – both of which premiered on US cablenet Reelz this month.

Notorious is a one-hour docuseries that chronicles the lives of some of the most infamous criminals in American history. It includes profiles of Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh, drug lord Griselda Blanco (aka the Cocaine Godmother) and NFL star turned killer Aaron Hernandez.

Fortune Fights examines the careers, personal lives and legal battles of stars including Johnny Depp, Britney Spears and Harrison Ford. It sees husband-and-wife attorneys Danielle and Andy Mayoras offer a legal perspective, examining issues such as prenuptial agreements and celebrity conservatorships.

Scorpion TV founder and CEO David Cornwall is in Cannes shopping the projects globally this week.

Holzman maintained his role as CEO of IPC after being put in charge of the overall Industrial Media Group, fka Core Media, at the end of last year.
