Flying Rainbow examines the oriental dwarf kingfisher

MIPCOM: Broadcasters in Latin America have picked up packages of factual programming from UK distributor Scorpion TV.

Argentinian pubcaster TV Pública has acquired four natural history docs, including Wild Carpathia (3×52′), which is produced by Almond Films in the UK and focuses on the forests and mountains of Romania.

Alamto: A Reptile Wonderland (1×60’), from Irib in Iran; The Pulse of the Atlantic Forest (1×52’), from Tico Tico in Brazil; and Zapped: The Buzz About Mosquitoes (1×45’), produced by Burke and Burke in Canada for the CBC, are also included.

Ministry of Education and Culture-owned TNU in Uruguay has also acquired Wild Carpathia, Alamto and The Pulse of the Atlantic Forest, along with Flying Rainbow (1×52′). The latter, produced by India’s Vishal Jadhav, studies a year in the life of one of the most enigmatic and rarely filmed birds in the world, the oriental dwarf kingfisher.

The deals were brokered by Scorpion sales executive Mireia Garcia.
