SBS6 sets date with Project Cupid

Project Cupid made its debut on Belgian broadcaster VTM

Dutch network SBS6, owned by John De Mol, has commissioned a local version of Belgian dating format Project Cupid.

The format, which was originally commissioned by Belgian broadcaster VTM, sees two hosts open a temporary dating agency to help people with mental health issues to find their perfect match.

A special first date is designed to make the couple feel at ease and enhance their chances of success.

The show was developed and produced by Roses Are Blue, which is also behind the successful diversity series Down the Road and the international hit format The Way Out.

Distributor Be-Entertainment sealed the deal with SBS6. The company’s MD, Gepke Nederlof, said: ”We’re very proud to announce a first deal for Project Cupid only one week after the Belgian launch and we’re looking forward to bringing this heartwarming new format to the Netherlands together with SBS.”
