Nicolas Paalzow will go on October 15 and the announcement came on the same day C21 revealed his colleague Taco Ketelaar was leaving the channel.

“The autumn season has failed. As managing director of the station, I accept responsibility,” Paalzow said in a statement issued by ProSieben.

He will be replaced by Sat.1’s deputy head Kaspar Pflueger, who arrived at the company last year from his role as programme director at RTL Croatia.

Paalzow spent three years at the top of the channel, during which time it aired local versions of formats such as Talpa’s Utopia.

Ketelaar, senior VP of primetime entertainment and reality programming, joined in 2013 having previously worked as CEO of Warner Bros-controlled Benelux formats outfit BlazHoffski.
