S Korea goes for Merciless drama

MIPTV: South Korean media group EPG has licensed the rights to drama series Merciless (Ojos sin Culpa) from Brazilian broadcast giant Globo.

The psychological thriller revolves around a serial killer who lives a double life, befriending a single-mother fashion professional as an alibi. The drama was penned by award-winning writer Glória Perez (The Clone).

Merciless picked up a 37% share and reached more than 22 million viewers daily in Brazil, according to audience measurement agency Ibope.

It is also Globo’s first series to be entirely shot and post-produced in ultra-high definition 4K.
