RTL2 acquires Digimon 5

NEWS BRIEF: German network RTL2 has acquired the fifth season of Toei Animation’s Digimon franchise Digimon Data Squad, confirmed Kanji Kazahaya, director of Toei’s international arm.

The Digimon brand has been a major success for the Japanese animation production house, selling into over 40 countries in Europe, North and South America and Asia, and earning around US$72m in merchandising sales for Japan alone.
