RTÉ’s Fittest Family runs off to Lat Am

The original Fittest Family was ordered by RTÉ One

MIPCOM: Turner Latin America has picked up a fitness-focused reality format that originally aired on RTÉ in Ireland for one of its channels in Chile.

Fittest Family will be adapted for Chilevisión following a deal between the broadcaster and the format’s UK-based distributor Magnify Media.

Chilevisión and US prodco The Gurin Company will work on the local adaptation which will see 12 mega-fit families compete in a series of physical tests and challenges to win the title of Fittest Family along with a cash prize.

Fittest Family was originally commissioned by RTÉ One in Ireland, produced by Kite Entertainment and Animo TV and is set to begin its sixth season next month.

Magnify Media acquired the rights in 2017. The deal with Chilevisión was brokered in association with new distribution company Maluc Entertainment, which was launched this year by former Televisa Head of Global Entertainment Ricardo Ehrsam.
