RTÉ takes High Road Low Road

High Road Low Road looks at two very different holidays in the same destination

Irish public broadcaster RTÉ has commissioned Northern Irish indie Green Inc to produce a new original travel entertainment format.

High Road Low Road (working title, 6×30’) will see a pair of celebrity friends or colleagues embark on a holiday or city break where each traveller will get to enjoy a very different vacation experience.

At the departure airport they choose envelopes, with one traveller set to enjoy five-star luxury while the other gets to experience the exact opposite: a budget break with no frills in the same destination.

During the programme, the pair will meet up regularly to experience each other’s holiday and compare and contrast who really drew the short straw.

RTÉ One is due to air High Road Low Road in a primetime early evening slot. The show was ordered by RTÉ group head of factual Seán Mac Giolla Phadraig and RTÉ commissioning editor for popular factual Ray McCarthy.
