RHI replaces Halmi with trio

US drama specialist RHI Entertainment has named its interim management team, after president and CEO Robert Halmi Jr stepped down this month.

Former MGM exec Mike Corrigan, Lorimar Telepictures co-founder David Salzman and former Polygram International boss Stewart Till are taking over CEO duties on a temporary basis until a permanent replacement is found, effective immediately.

All three have sat on RHI’s board and now fill the position left empty when Halmi Jr resigned earlier this month. In late March, the company emerged from bankruptcy protection with new capital.

The trio are “eminently equipped” to lead RHI and “establish a lasting foundation for not only maintaining its position as the leading provider of original longform productions but also as a global supplier of a wider range of content across the full media spectrum,” said RHI chairman Gabriel de Alba.

“We will leverage the company’s tremendous team and existing asset base, reach out to the creative community as never before and use the substantial financial capital available to us to build on the framework already in place,” added Corrigan, Salzman and Till in a joint statement.

The firm is currently rolling out two new miniseries, Neverland, starring Rhys Ifans, Anna Friel, Bob Hoskins and Keira Knightley; and Treasure Island, which includes Eddie Izzard, Elijah Wood and Donald Sutherland among the cast.
