Deals had previously been announced with Amazon Prime Video in the US, Australia, Canada, the UK and Ireland, Hulu in the US and NBCUniversal in German-speaking Europe.

Other new buyers include Cosmote TV and Vodafone in Greece, TV2 in Norway and Denmark, Sony in Russia, Telma TV in Macedonia, RSI in French-speaking Switzerland, AZTV in German-speaking Switzerland, Foxlife in Turkey, StarTimes in Africa, SBS in Belgium, RTL in Croatia, CyBC in Cyprus, AMB Baltics in Latvia and Lithuania, and OriMedia in Iraq.

First aired in 1989, Baywatch follows a group of lifeguards on the beaches of Malibu, California. The original went on to air in more than 200 countries and was translated into 48 languages.

In 2018, Fremantle remastered the series into high definition, overseen by original creators and exec producers Michael Berk, Greg Bonann and Doug Schwartz.

“Baywatch is renowned as one of the most iconic shows in the world and the remastered version still includes all the elements that made it a classic originally,” said Bob McCourt, chief operating officer of international at Fremantle.
