Redseven restarts The Taste production

Sat.1 culinary gameshow The Taste

Redseven Entertainment, part of ProSiebenSat.1 Group’s Red Arrow Studios, is returning to full production on primetime cooking competition series The Taste after the group ordered an eighth season.

The show, which airs on the German group’s Sat.1 channel, sees judges blind-taste single spoonfuls of food created by contestants hoping to win €50,000 and publish their own cookbook.

The format was created and produced by Red Arrow-backed Kinetic Content for ABC in the US and has since been sold by Red Arrow Studios International into more than 40 territories.

The new season will see model and author Angelina Kirsch take over presenting duties, alongside judges that include newcomer Alex Kumptner and regular judges Alexander Herrmann, Tim Raue and Frank Rosin.

Jobst Benthues, CEO of Redseven Entertainment, said: “It feels great to return to the studio again for so many reasons, and especially to bring The Taste back to German fans.

“Ensuring the safety of our contestants, our talent and the whole crew is of paramount importance to us, and we are working with professional safety experts and officials to ensure that we adhere to every safety guideline and protocol within the studio. It is going to be a great season.”

Redseven has produced a number of shows during the coronavirus crisis, including ProSieben’s live musical festival The Great ProSieben Living Room Festival, in which more than 40 national and international music superstars performed live from their own homes.

It has also made We Cook Together! At Home With A Top Chef and interactive talkshow ProSieben LIVE: Germany Asks About Corona.
