Redseven hires for German expansion

Red Arrow Studios-owned Redseven Entertainment has opened its third office in Germany, to be led by a former ProSieben exec.

Redseven already has offices in the German cities of Munich and Cologne and the latest addition in Berlin comes as part of its plans to expand its production capabilities in the country.

Benedikt Nordmann has been named executive producer in charge of the Berlin hub. Nordmann was most recently head of comedy and light entertainment and an exec producer at German network ProSieben.

One of the Berlin office’s first projects is the International Music Awards (IMA), founded by Axel Springer Media House Berlin and Rolling Stone Germany.

Jobst Benthues, CEO of Redseven, said: “Opening an office in Berlin gives us access to new ideas and networks within the Berlin creative scene, and enables us to establish ourselves there as key partner for video content.

“We’ll also be well positioned in terms of our flexibility and breadth – including more physical space, but also the range of content we will be able to produce, including ambitious entertainment, docutainment and factual content, as well as digital content and expanding our corporate TV activities”

The move follows news earlier this month that Red Arrow’s parent company, ProSiebenSat.1 in Germany, has appointed bank Morgan Stanley to oversee a sale of the company.

A spokesman told C21: “We have started a strategic review of Red Arrow Studios – our international content production business. We are evaluating all different kinds of scenarios, and a sale of the business would be just one option of many.”
