Red Rock hires one, promotes others

US wildlife and science prodco Red Rock Films has hired a British filmmaker as creative director.

Belinda Cherrington was previously creative director and director of factual at London-based 360 Productions, now known as Rare TV. Her role at Red Rock is newly-created.

Red Rock president, Brian Armstrong, said: “Belinda has previously helped expand production for such notable companies as 360 (now Rare TV), Renegade and Tigress, and she’s had a diverse range of primetime unscripted success in multiple formats including stunts, science, factual entertainment, wildlife and history. Belinda’s experience is a perfect fit for our growing business.”

Meanwhile, Red Rock has also promoted Shannon Malone from VP of development and production to senior VP of development and production. In her expanded role, she will oversee development at Red Rock Digital/Kids and Red Rock International.

At Johannesburg-based Red Rock International, producer Alexandria Christos has been upped to development executive.

In June the company teamed up with actor Sigourney Weaver to executive produce and narrate natural history doc Wild World.
