Red Arrow’s Gravitas sets up US streamer

Red Arrow-owned digital distribution specialist Gravitas Ventures has launched an SVoD movie service in the US.

Gravitas Movies is home for the company’s library of independent films in the US, priced at US$4.99 a month.

It is available on Comcast’s Xfinity X1 as well as Apple TV and iOS devices, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android mobile and Android TV devices, and via a dedicated website.

A global roll-out will follow later this summer, with more than 1,000 movies from leading film festivals and filmmakers in all genres.

Titles already available include the exclusive Platoon reunion documentary Brothers in Arms with Johnny Depp, Charlie Sheen and Willem Defoe; thriller Billy Boy with Melissa Benoist; Katie Holmes’ directorial debut drama, All We Had; and Michael Caine’s documentary portrait of the 1960s, My Generation.

Launched in 2006 and bought by Red Arrow in 2017, Gravitas Ventures has become a leading film distributor, bridging the gap between filmmakers and consumer-friendly technology in order to reach a global audience.
