Raydar detects Bear Hunt special

London-based distribution and coproduction outfit Raydar Media has picked up rights to an animated special adapted from a classic illustrated children’s book.

We’re Going on A Bear Hunt has been sold into countries including Australia, Finland and Sweden

Raydar Media is now handling international sales of We’re Going on A Bear Hunt (1×24′), which premiered on Channel 4 in the UK towards the end of last year.

The hand-drawn, animated film is based on the book of the same name written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury.

Produced by Lupus Films Production in association with Bear Hunt Films, Walker Productions and Herrick Entertainment, the special was previously distributed by Union Media.

It has already been sold to ABC in Australia, SVT in Sweden, NRK in Norway, YLE in Finland, Amazon Prime in the US and Canal+/Piwi in France.

The special joins other series such as Teacup Travels (20×11′), which airs on CBeebies in the UK and follows two intelligent and inquisitive children as they learn about history.

Meanwhile, projects in development at Raydar include ‘ultramarionation’ series Firestorm (26×22′), based on an idea by the late Gerry Anderson (Thunderbirds) and preschool animated series The Petal People (52×11′).
