Rai hears Voice for fifth time

Rai Due in Italy has renewed its local version of Dutch media giant Talpa’s hit format The Voice for a fifth season.

The new season of Rai’s adaptation of the singing format, which first aired in the Netherlands in 2010, will see Francesco Renga, Cristina Scabbia and Al Bano joining season two and three voice coach J-Ax on the judging panel.

Sixty-seven local versions of The Voice air across more than 180 territories. The format has also spawned two spin-offs, The Voice Kids and The Voice Senior.

A UK version of the latter, which was announced at Micpom last year, is currently being discussed by Talpa and UK broadcaster ITV, as revealed exclusively by C21.
