Racing Wives on start line at CMT

Documentary series Music City follows aspiring Nashville performers

US cablenet CMT has greenlit an original reality series focusing on the wives of famous racing drivers, and renewed its documentary series Music City for a second season.

Racing Wives will focus on the lavish lives of wives of Ashley and Samantha Busch, who are married to Kurt Busch and Kyle Busch, and Austin Dillon’s wife Whitney Ward Dillon.

Amber Balcaen, an aspiring NASCAR driver who is new to the racing community and left everything back home in Canada to go to North Carolina to pursue her dream, is also featured.

The 8×60’ series is being produced by LA-based indie T Group and executive produced by the company’s founder Jenny Daly.

Music City is the latest docuseries from The Hills creator Adam DiVello and has been greenlit for a 10-episode second season. The show follows young people chasing success and fame in Nashville.

The series is produced by DiVello’s Done and Done Productions in association with US studio Lionsgate.

Both shows will air early next year.
