The move will expand upon The QYou’s growth across 35 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Bob Reid, VP of business development and sales at The QYou, said: “Moving into the Asia-Pacific market is a great step forward for us, but also a natural one.

“Consumer viewing habits here are extremely advanced and there is a strong appetite for internet content, and all the imaginative and diverse video it encompasses.”

Dublin-based The QYou, which premiered on Beijing-based pay TV operator Star Times in October 2014, provides a curated line-up of made-for-web video from around the world.

The 24/7 channel is available to pay TV operators globally as part of linear, video-on-demand and/or TV Everywhere offerings.

The ad-free service is the brainchild of industry veterans CEO Scott Ehrlich (Fox News, NBC Cable, Real, Divx), Curt Marvis (MTV, CinemaNow, Lionsgate), Les Garland (MTV, VH-1, The Box) and G Scott Patterson (Lionsgate Entertainment, NeuLion, Engagement Labs).
