Quintus docs go across Spektrum

Dangerous Ways To School reveals the lengths some children go to to attend lessons

AMC Networks International Central and Northern Europe (AMCNI CNE) has picked up documentaries for its Spektrum channel, including one that follows hair-raising journeys to school around the world.

The docs were acquired for AMCNI CNE’s Spektrum in Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The Most Dangerous Ways to School (5×60’), from German indie Maximus Film, follows children as they travel to lessons in some of the world’s most extreme conditions, by marching, climbing or swimming.

Maximus films Planet School (8×30’), Mega Transports (6×60’) and Ultimate Vehicles (6×60’) have also been added to the Spektrum slate.

Spacetime (6×60’) and Remeasuring the World (1×60’), produced by Berlin-based WeltN24, are the other two docs in the package deal, which was brokered by German distributor Quintus Media.

Last year, German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 picked up a range of programming from Quintus.
