Jane Lipsitz and Dan Cutforth

Shortform video platform Quibi has commissioned a beauty and lifestyle series presented by actress and model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and produced by the creators of Top Chef and Project Runway.

The series will delve deep into the world of beauty and feature icons of the industry, highlighting their stories to the top through interviews with Huntington-Whiteley.

The untitled series will air exclusively on Quibi and is produced by Alfred Street Industries, with Jane Lipsitz, Dan Cutforth, Dan Volpe and Kim Ray executive producing for the company alongside Lily Berg and Huntington-Whiteley.

Alfred Street is the new US indie set up by Top Chef and Project Runway creators Lipsitz and Cutforth earlier this year, https://www.c21media.net/cutforth-lipsitz-move-into-alfred-street/?ss=%22alfred+street%22 following their departure from Tinopolis-owned Magical Elves which they previously founded.

Lipsitz and Cutforth said: “ Rosie is a remarkable talent whose expertise in both beauty and business makes her the ideal guide to the success stories of industry titans, as well as budding stars. Together, we’re eager to reveal the inner workings and unique inspirations that make the beauty world so alluring.”

Quibi launches in the US on April 6 next year and has been steadily building up a slate of shortform projects since being announced by former Walt Disney Studios chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman.

The firm has so far raised US$1bn in funding from investors including Disney, 21st Century Fox, NBCUniversal, Sony Pictures Entertainment, WarnerMedia, Liberty Global and China’s Alibaba Group.
